Hanshi Ian Pollet fell in love with the Martial Arts when he was only eight years old. From then he has dedicated his life to it, practicing his karate, weapons, jiu-jitsu, free-style wrestling, boxing, judo and knife-fighting.

Hanshi Ian Pollet has over 40 years experience in the Martial Arts Industry. He is currently an 8th Degree Black Belt in Karate, an 8th Degree Black Black Belt in Kempo Jiu-Jitsu, a 5th Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Kobudo and a Kru Muay Thai Qualified through MTIA. He is a current member of the Australian Shihan Kai, The World Okinawan Karate & Kobudo Association and the Muay Thai International Association.

Hanshi Ian Pollet believes that a Martial Artist should never stop or look back - they should keep going forward, creating new things. He lives this philosophy through his travels all over the world, meeting, training and learning from experts in many different disciplines. These travels have seen him in Okinawa, South Africa, America, Taiwan and Thailand, in addition to his scheduled visit to Spain this year. Due to his Martial Arts Success, Hanshi Ian Pollet has been inducted into the Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame, ISKA Instructor of the Year Hall of Fame and Sportsperson of the Year in 2009.

The style Hanshi Pollet has developed (and now teaches in his three full-time studios) is based upon the water principle – the idea that water can fit itself into any glass, just as a martial artist must fit their art and self into any life situation.

Hanshi Ian Pollet's dedication and discipline is evident in his achievements as a Martial Artist. Not only is Pollet's Martial Arts Centre the ISKA World Championship school, Hanshi Ian Pollet himself is the current Grand World Champion in Self Defence and Kata.

After several years of preparation, Hanshi Ian Pollet was examined for his 8th Dan in 2007 by 10th Dan Grand Master Professor Barry Bradshaw, 10th Dan Grand Master Peter Morton, 10th Dan Grand Master Tony Jackson, 10th Dan Grand Master Dr. Robert Braff and 9th Dan Hanshi Pat McKean. He achieved this goal - his dedication not only to himself and his students, but to his art is something that can only be truly understood by those who set on the path to follow his example.

Martial Arts has truly been a life time pursuit for Hanshi Ian Pollet.

"Martial Arts is not a one day affair.
It is a lifetime commitment, a lifetime study...
It is a way of life"
- Hanshi Pollet
