THE PASSING OF A TRUE GRAND MASTER
PROFESSOR BARRY BRADSHAW

10th February 1939 – 12th July 2010 Kancho Barry Bradshaw, 10th Dan, Chief Instructor of Australian Federation of Instructors, was a husband, father, Hanshi Ian Pollet’s Mentor and much loved friend, sadly passed away at 71.

Professor Bradshaw began training in the martial arts in 1946. He built a strong reputation nationally and internationally as a superb martial artist and teacher. His lifetime achievements include holding the ranks of 10th Dan in Jiu-jitsu and Judo, 9th degree in Chinese Boxing (Kung Fu), 6th Dan in Judo-do and Ido, 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate; he was head of the Australian Jiu-jitsu, Judo and Chinese Boxing Federation of Instructors and Director of the Australian Shihan Kai.

Professor Bradshaw’s close friendship with Hanshi Ian Pollet has seen the Professor travel to Orange and Bathurst many times over the years to run memorable seminars and students have never failed to be amazed at his skill. Professor Bradshaw will be remembered not just as a dedicated martial artist, but as a caring, friendly, loyal and wise man who had a great sense of humour. He always took the time to talk and laugh with students, regardless of grade or walk of life.
Professor Bradshaw, you will be much missed and we hope your next journey is as fulfilling as this one.
