WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
In October Hanshi and a select team including Craig Morrison, Jackson Robbins, Ellen Rossi, Matt March and Angel Towney travelled to Okinawa to train with Grand Master Kiichi Nakamoto Sensei and his students to prepare for the Uchinanchu Festival being held during their visit. In preparation for the festival Hanshi and his team put in six hours a day training to ready themselves for the demonstration infront of numerous grand masters, their hard work paid off when grand master Nakamoto complimented them as best demonstration of the day. The highlight of this trip was Nakamoto Sensei awarding Hanshi Ian Pollet his red masters belt.
"To get awarded the red belt is a dream that every martial artist has as a boy. It is something I can treasure." - Hanshi Ian Pollet as reported in the Central Western Daily.
Hanshi will endeavour to bring grand master Kiichi Nakamoto to Australia next March.
Congratulations go out to all of the Instructors and Students who competed at the World Cup on the 21st-23rd October.
THE PASSING OF A TRUE GRAND MASTER
Professor Bradshaw began training in the martial arts in 1946. He built a strong reputation nationally and internationally as a superb martial artist and teacher. His lifetime achievements include holding the ranks of 10th Dan in Jiu-jitsu and Judo, 9th degree in Chinese Boxing (Kung Fu), 6th Dan in Judo-do and Ido, 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate; he was head of the Australian Jiu-jitsu, Judo and Chinese Boxing Federation of Instructors and Director of the Australian Shihan Kai.
Professor Bradshaw’s close friendship with Hanshi Ian Pollet has seen the Professor travel to Orange and Bathurst many times over the years to run memorable seminars and students have never failed to be amazed at his skill. Professor Bradshaw will be remembered not just as a dedicated martial artist, but as a caring, friendly, loyal and wise man who had a great sense of humour. He always took the time to talk and laugh with students, regardless of grade or walk of life.
Professor Bradshaw, you will be much missed and we hope your next journey is as fulfilling as this one.
